Dr. Artise Stewart

Relief Veterinarian

Hello! My name is Dr. Artise Stewart and I graduated from The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee in 2005 and started my career in the Seattle, WA area. There I worked for three years as an associate veterinarian at a busy 3-doctor hospital. Since Seattle, I have moved many times from Boston, Charleston, and Tampa and have loved seeing the country along the way! During my time in Boston I realized I wanted to give my patients additional care for chronic osteoarthritis. I found so many of my patients went on drugs without addressing their mobility issues and the client's concerns. This prompted me to work towards getting my certification in rehabilitation- which I obtained in 2012. Once in Charleston, I continued working as a small animal vet but also had the wonderful opportunity to start up the rehab and physical therapy department at a large speciality hospital.

I also found my love of teaching when working at the veterinary technician college. I love seeing “the light bulb go off “ and the excitement when students complete new skills. This has really helped to create more energy in my love for veterinary medicine. Working in many different settings I realize and value the knowledge, skills, and importance of our veterinary nurses. My husband, daughter, and I moved to Charlotte in June of 2019 and so far we love the area! Amazingly, we only have 1 dog, named Basil, but due to us moving so often it has been hard to have more pets. We hope to add to our furry family now that we are settled in Charlotte!

In my free time I love spending time with my family biking and exploring new parks in Charlotte. I also love baking, trying out new restaurants /foods, and traveling internationally to explore different cultures!
